We are now looking for an experienced and commercially minded SVP Group Strategic Sourcing to join the Group Management Team and play a key role in further strengthening OptiGroup’s sourcing capabilities and supplier partnerships across Europe.
This is not a traditional large-scale corporate procurement role. Success in this position will require a pragmatic, relationship-oriented and business-driven leader who enjoys operating in a decentralized environment where influence is built through trust, credibility and collaboration.
Job description
As SVP Group Strategic Sourcing, you will lead and further develop OptiGroup’s strategic sourcing agenda across the Group. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with local businesses and sourcing teams to identify synergies, strengthen supplier relationships and support profitable growth across categories and geographies.
The role combines strategic sourcing, commercial leadership and stakeholder management in a highly decentralized business environment with strong local entrepreneurship and accountability.
Your main tasks will be to:
Develop and drive OptiGroup’s strategic sourcing agenda across the Group
Build strong supplier partnerships and identify opportunities for increased value creation and synergies
Support and develop sourcing capabilities across business units and countries
Drive initiatives related to own brands, supplier strategy and increased Asia sourcing
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Group Management Team on sourcing and supply chain topics
Contribute to sustainability, supplier compliance and procurement-related M&A activities
Build alignment and collaboration across a decentralized procurement community
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, you are a senior and commercially driven sourcing or procurement leader with experience from international B2B environments. You likely have a background from distribution, wholesale, industrial trade, packaging, facility & safety, medical, paper or adjacent sectors, and are comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments with multiple local businesses and cultures.
You are confident and pragmatic, with the ability to create engagement and trust across organizations. Rather than relying on formal authority, you build momentum through relationships, business understanding and credibility.
Requirements
Extensive experience from senior sourcing, procurement or commercial leadership roles
Experience from international and matrix-based organisations
Strong commercial understanding and experience managing supplier ecosystems and sourcing strategies
Experience from decentralized business environments
Experience from B2B wholesale, distribution or adjacent industries is highly meriting
Solid understanding of international sourcing and supplier management, including Asia/China sourcing
Experience engaging with executive leadership teams
Excellent communication skills in English
Academic degree within Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent
