Thank you for your interest in becoming our Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at East Suffolk and North East Essex Foundation Trust.
We recognise that we are at a crucial point in the future direction of the NHS. Technological change, a focus on the 10-year plan which will change how and where we deliver some care and the immediacy of the challenges to meet current, unprecedented demand in patient care.
ESNEFT is based across two acute hospitals and six community hospitals. Formed from the merger of Ipswich and Colchester hospitals and the integration of community services across the two counties, we are a large successful integrated trust with financial stability and a clear strategy for the future. We are proud of our acute and community focus, our commitment to delivering on key access standards around emergency, elective and cancer and our unwavering focus on reducing the wider determinants of health inequality. This year we will also see the introduction of our world-class electronic patient record system, which will transform the way we deliver patient care.
With a commitment to our mission of Time Matters, are excited about the scale of transformational change, for which we are carefully and thoughtfully preparing, equally, we remain steadfast in our commitment to keeping the fundamentals of care at the very centre of all we do. We are committed to ensuring that we continue to support the wellbeing and engagement of our staff and building a culture of inclusivity in which our Divisional teams are empowered to drive innovation and deliver the highest quality patient care.
The Chief Medical Officer role holds an exciting and varied portfolio. It is responsible for clinical safety, outcomes and effectiveness providing expert advice and information to the Trust Board. Naturally, the role has the overarching responsibility for the professional leadership of the medical staff at ESNEF.
