  • Dear Candidate

Thank you for your interest in the role of Director of Corporate Affairs at London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (LAS). This is an important time to join us as we work together to shape services that meet the needs of one of the most vibrant, diverse, and fast-moving cities in the world.

We are proud at LAS of the life-saving care we deliver every day, however, we are also just as committed to building an organisation that is forward-looking, inclusive, and driven by the highest standards of public service. To do this well, we need outstanding leadership in our corporate governance team and from a new Director who brings rigour, judgement and a collaborative mindset to support how we operate, how we make decisions, and how we are rightly held to account.

We are looking for a values-led leader who brings experience of managing governance, risk, and corporate affairs at a senior level, ideally in a complex and high-profile setting. But just as importantly, we are seeking someone who can work with our Executive Team, Board and wider organisation in a way that brings clarity, confidence, and momentum. You do not have to come from a career in the NHS, rather, what matters more is that you care about public purpose and are ready to help shape our future.

This role will be central to our journey. You will advise our Chair and I on all matters of governance, support the work of the Trust Board and its Committees, and lead functions including risk, legal services and patient experience. You will have a key voice in how we respond to system-wide transformation, strengthen our engagement with regulators and stakeholders, and build a culture that enables everyone at LAS to thrive and deliver their best.

As someone who has just returned to LAS after working at different organisations, I am struck once again by the passion, dedication, and potential across the organisation. There is both much to be proud of, as well as much to do, and I am genuinely excited about what comes next in our strategic journey. You will join a talented, open and supportive leadership team, where independent thinking and fresh perspectives are genuinely valued and welcomed.

If you are motivated to bring your skills, experience and energy to help us make a lasting difference for our people and the population of London we proudly serve, I would encourage you to speak with our advisors at Alumni Global for a conversation about the role.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    With best wishes,

    Jason Killens KAM
    Chief Executive
