Sandvik Group
Stockholm, Sweden
As Vice President Group Tax, you shape Sandvik’s global tax strategy and lead an experienced international team. This is a strategic leadership role where sound judgement, business understanding and the ability to influence decisions are as important as broad international tax expertise.
You join a well-established function with strong processes, experienced colleagues and trusted relationships across the business. Your opportunity is to build on this foundation, anticipate an evolving international tax landscape and ensure tax considerations support Sandvik’s strategic priorities.

Your mission
You set the direction for Group Tax, translating complex international tax developments into clear priorities and practical advice for the business and team. Working closely with the Group CFO, business areas and other senior stakeholders, you balance tax risks, commercial opportunities and the Group’s long-term interests. Ensuring compliance with regulations is essential, but focus is also on strategic oversight, leadership and sound decision-making.
You lead a highly qualified and experienced global tax function of around 15 professionals at Group level, covering international tax, transfer pricing, indirect tax, tax control and regional tax. Sandvik Group also has dedicated tax professionals in a number of countries, and you work closely with these local tax experts to ensure strong alignment between the Group tax strategy and local execution, including operational and compliance-related tax matters. You empower experienced specialists and managers, build strong relationships across the organization and make complex tax topics understandable to senior decision-makers.
You report to the EVP & Chief Financial Officer of Sandvik Group. As a member of the Group Finance Management Team as well as the extended Finance Management Team (including business areas), you contribute to a Group-wide perspective and act as a trusted advisor on complex cross-border matters.
Job responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop an experienced global tax organization, fostering collaboration, accountability and strong leadership among managers and specialists.
Set the strategic direction for international tax and anticipate the implications of evolving OECD, EU and local tax regulations.
Provide Group-wide oversight of transfer pricing strategy, governance and associated risks across a complex international footprint.
Advise senior stakeholders on significant tax exposures, audits, legal structures and cross-border decisions, balancing tax and business considerations.
Support acquisitions and integrations with strategic tax guidance, drawing on the expertise of the team.
Build trusted partnerships with business area finance leadership and communicate complex tax matters clearly to the CFO and other senior stakeholders.
This position is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Your profile
You have substantial international corporate tax experience, ideally gained in a senior Group Tax role in a large, listed and globally operating company. You combine broad technical understanding with strategic perspective and proven leadership experience.
You bring:
Extensive experience of international corporate tax in a complex, global business, with a broad understanding of transfer pricing and emerging tax regulation.
A track record of providing strategic and pragmatic tax advice to senior business and finance leaders, including the ability to assess and communicate complex risks.
Strong communication skills in English and the ability to turn complex tax matters into clear recommendations that support sound business decisions.
Proven people leadership skills, with strong ability to coach senior specialists and managers.
Strong stakeholder and change management skills, with a good ability to influence across a global organization.
Experience of M&A and integration is an advantage. A background in tax advisory can be relevant when combined with substantial corporate leadership experience.
You are curious about the business, pragmatic and able to see beyond individual tax questions to their wider commercial implications. Confident without needing to have every answer yourself, you listen, challenge constructively and make balanced decisions. You build trust across functions and geographies and help a highly capable team succeed together.
