A rewarding and fast-paced environment

Working at EEAST gives you the chance to support your community, provide life-saving care and help people through their darkest moments. It’s a busy, dynamic environment that brings fresh challenges every day.

Working in the east of England

Our Trust provides emergency and non-emergency care to patients in the east of England covering the six counties of Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

You get to work in one of the most diverse areas of the country; the bustling capital city is on our doorstep and the bracing North Sea envelopes our shores to the east.

We've got historical cathedral towns and cities, brand new communities, rural broadlands and some of the busiest arteries of road and rail networks, including the M25, A14, M1, M11 and A12, and railway lines from London Liverpool Street out to Cambridge, Norwich, Peterborough, Colchester and Southend.

Wherever you go in the east of England there is always something to see and do; but if travelling around the UK and beyond is a must for you as well, the Luton, Stansted, Norwich and Southend airports couldn't make it more easier to stay in touch with loved ones or send you on a deserved holiday or short break.

  • Dear Candidate

Thank you for your interest in joining the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST). Having been recently appointed as Chief Executive, I am delighted that you are considering the opportunity to join us at this pivotal time in our journey, with the newly created role of Director of Digital Innovation (DDI) being crucial to our development.

Operating across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire, EEAST serves a diverse and growing population of approximately 6.2 million. Our dedicated team of over 5,000 staff and 1,000 volunteers work tirelessly to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. We have a clear set ambition that we collectively work towards:

    •  To be an exceptional place to work, volunteer, and learn.

    • To provide outstanding quality of care and performance.

    • To achieve excellence in collaboration and innovation as system partners.

    • To maintain environmental and financial sustainability.

To realise this vision, we are seeking a forward thinking, inclusive, and inspiring leader to join our executive team as DDI. This role is crucial to driving EEAST's evolution into a digital and data-enabled ambulance service that meets the needs of the modern era while responsibly harnessing emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

The DDI will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive digital, data, and technology delivery plan, as part of our sustainability strategy. This role requires an empathetic, outcome focused leader, who can reshape organisational culture, enhance operational effectiveness, and build digital innovation capabilities. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the health and care ecosystem to foster integration, improve patient outcomes, and enhance our organisational resilience.

We are focused on several key priorities, including:

    • Driving cultural change towards continual improvement, innovation, and digital-first thinking.

    • Leading digital and data delivery to enhance frontline operations and patient care.

    • Building strategic partnerships to innovate and collaborate effectively across health and care systems.

This is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact within a dynamic and evolving ambulance service that impacts the lives of many people every day. We are genuinely open to the sector experience you bring, and if you are a compassionate, strategic leader with a passion for digital innovation and the ambition to shape our future, we invite you to apply.

I look forward to meeting you and learning how you can contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional care and innovation.

    Yours sincerely

    Neill Moloney
