The Chief Executive Officer is responsible, directly to the Board, for the governance, operations and management of Swan Hill District Health, including total operational and financial performance of the Health Service and for compliance with its legal and statutory obligations.

About the Swan Hill District Health

Swan Hill District Health (SHDH) is a sub-regional referral hospital servicing a large, but sparsely populated area of Northern Victoria and South Western New South Wales. The rural city of Swan Hill has a population of 11,000 people with the health service providing care to a catchment population estimated at 35,000.

Swan Hill District Health is a member of the Loddon Mallee Local Health Network and provides an integrated range of acute and sub-acute inpatient, maternity and neonatal services, community rehabilitation, aged residential, domiciliary and primary care, dental services, Health Promotion, Community Health programs, Headspace, Kapel Telkuna Indigenous Health Unit and a large General Practice providing primary care appointments for up to 300 people per day.

The Swan Hill Primary Health Medical Clinic is attached to the main campus and supports the hospital medical services and provides an opportunity to strengthen the medical workforce and services provided to the community and surrounding smaller health services.

SHDH provides residential aged care through Jacaranda at Nyah West and Logan Lodge in Swan Hill.
