The Royal Hospital for Women is a leading specialist hospital for women and babies in Australia, with a history dating back to 1820. Specialisations include breast care, gynaecology, gynaecological oncology, maternity, maternal-fetal medicine, menopause, newborn intensive care, and reproductive medicine. The hospital delivers over 4,000 babies, cares for over 600 premature babies, performs over 3,000 surgical procedures, and has over 2,000 visits through the Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) annually.

The Staff Specialist position will provide a diagnostic and management service to all women with gynaecological cancer at the Royal Hospital for Women and agreed partnering hospitals in a full time capacity.

  • The Royal Hospital for Women's Gynaecological Cancer Centre is one of six major referral centres for gynaecological cancer in NSW, handling 250-300 new cases of invasive cancer annually. They work with a multidisciplinary team of medical and radiation oncologists, specialists, palliative care physicians, genetic counsellors, nurses, and other medical staff. Patients are cared for in a 25-bed ward, which also accommodates those with breast cancer and benign gynaecological issues.
