Help shape the future of local NHS care

A bit about us…

  • Hello

Thank you for your interest in this exciting opportunity.  Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust (DCHS) is a successful and person-centred organisation, rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC and delivering a broad range of community services across a significant and diverse geography.  We are well-led, with our vision, mission, culture and values embedded across the organisation.  We are committed to working together with our colleagues, partners and communities to improve the wellbeing of our populations across Derby and Derbyshire.  We’re now integral to the Joined Up Care Derbyshire (JUCD) partnership of health and social care organisations working ever more closely as an Integrated Care System.

We employ approximately 4,500 people, making us one of the largest providers of specialist community health services in the country. We serve a patient population of more than 1.1 million people across Derbyshire and Derby and have an annual budget of £260mn.  We care for patients across a wide range of services and locations, including 10 community hospital and 28 health centres. We also deliver care from patients’ own homes, GP practices, schools and care homes. Our digital transformation programme and contemporary ways of working mean we’re also able to deliver high quality virtual care via remote consultations, where clinically appropriate.

We are seeking to appoint three new Non-Executive Directors to our Board and are looking for collaborative and strategic candidates to provide support, oversight, governance and leadership in the pursuit of our vision: “to be the best provider of local healthcare and to be a great place to work”.  You will join a strong and high-performing Board, comprised of individuals with a wide range of professional backgrounds and lived experience, to make a positive difference to the wellbeing of our communities and workforce.

We value diversity and so are keen to ensure our Board better represents the populations it serves and that we maintain a good balance of views, skills and experience around the Board table.  If you have a commitment and passion for the NHS and think you will complement our board members, we would love to hear from you.
