CHEO is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Intensivist for the role of Division Head, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. CHEO plays a critical regional role as the only Level 3 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) serving Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, and the Qikiqtani region of Nunavut. The mission of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa is to expand our impact on the health of individuals and populations in both official languages through interdisciplinary education, research and responsive care. The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) therefore represents an essential component of CHEO’s mission as a tertiary pediatric academic health sciences center providing excellent clinical care, teaching, innovation and research.
This is an exciting opportunity as the Division is entering a period of strategic renewal, transformation and growth. As the incoming Division Head, you will champion strategic priorities that enhance quality, access, and sustainability, including the integration of services, development of a continuity-based care model, and strengthening of multidisciplinary collaboration across the clinical team. You will help position the Division to meet future tertiary care needs, including the planned return of cardiac surgical activity, while advancing quality benchmarking and expanding CHEO’s regional and virtual care footprint.
CHEO’s Department of Pediatrics and its Division of Pediatric Critical Care are closely associated with the CHEO Research Institute and division members have academic appointments with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. There is a vibrant RCPSC-approved, two-year Pediatric Critical Care Medicine subspecialty residency training program.
