The Sub-Faculty of Clinical and Molecular Medicine, representing Faculty activities across Monash Health, comprises the School of Clinical Sciences, Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, the Monash Victorian Heart Institute within the Victorian Heart Hospital, and the University activities of the Hudson Institute of Medical Research.
We improve health across the lifespan, in partnership with Victoria’s largest health service. Our direct access to patient populations is enabled through Monash Health’s multiple hospital campuses and community services. We drive cutting-edge research across the human lifespan, from fertility to end of life. Our work spans the continuum from discovery and clinical research, through to implementation and health services research.
Educational offerings, chiefly in the School of Clinical Sciences, include Monash University’s largest cohort of Doctor of Medicine students, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate courses in nutrition, reproduction, mental health and cardiovascular disease.
We strive to generate world-leading health outcomes and offer a strong record of entrepreneurialism and commercialisation, developing opportunities at every level, from molecule to community.
The Dean also holds the position of Chief Research and Innovation Officer at Monash Health.
Chief Research and Innovation Officer
The Chief Research and Innovation Officer (CRIO) provides executive leadership throughout Monash Health, strengthening and embedding world-class research and innovation as a core function of Monash Health, with the broader purpose of delivering better outcomes for our community.
The role strategically leads the development of research partnerships that elevate our capability and capacity to undertake research and works collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholder. The role optimises the translation of high-quality research into practice to improve healthcare access, experience and outcomes and evolves our models of care to illustrate and align to best practice.
