  • Dear Candidate,

Thank you for expressing interest in the role of Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH). This is an exciting time for our Trust, with a strong focus on investment and innovation, as well as a solid recovery following the challenges of the past few years.

DBTH is a leading acute trust in Yorkshire, serving a diverse population of over 440,000 across South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire. We operate three main hospital sites: Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital, and Montagu Hospital, along with several additional service sites. As one of only a small number of teaching hospitals in the region, our modern and forward-thinking Trust employs over 7,200 dedicated colleagues who are committed to providing the highest standards of care for local people.

As our Chief Finance Officer, you will be a crucial member of the Board of Directors and Executive Team, responsible for shaping and implementing our financial strategy.

Your portfolio includes Financial Management, Capital Projects, Procurement, Estates and Facilities, and Digital Transformation and Information. You will provide the very best leadership to these critical functions to ensure the Trust meets its financial obligations, improves operational efficiencies, and supports high-quality patient services through strategic investments and innovations.

We are looking to attract the very best – someone with a proven track record of financial control and the ability to make the most of public money. Your leadership will be key in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative working across our organisation and with our partners both locally and regionally.

In all, we require a visionary leader who can navigate the complexities of the NHS financial landscape, drive value for money, and inspire our teams to achieve excellence in all aspects of our operations.

At DBTH, we pride ourselves on our inclusive and supportive culture, the "DBTH Way," which emphasises compassion, openness, and excellence. As a role model for these values, you will work closely with myself as Chief Executive and other Executive Directors to embed this culture throughout the Trust and ensure we deliver our strategic objectives effectively.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact within one of the region’s most important healthcare providers. If you are a dynamic and innovative financial leader with a experience in a similar healthcare environment, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Please contact our advisors at Alumni Global to discuss your interest further. We look forward to exploring how you can contribute to the future success of Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals.

    Yours sincerely,

    Richard Parker OBE

    Chief Executive
