Dear Candidate
Thank you for expressing interest in joining the Management Board of SNOMED International, which I have the privilege to chair. I believe that you would find that being a member of the Management Board would be a most rewarding opportunity, and one that I would hope would excite your interest.
We are honoured to be trusted by the General Assembly of our member countries around the globe to ensure that health standards make a tangible and sustainable difference to patient outcomes everywhere.
You will be aware of our flagship standard, SNOMED CT (SCT), however, you may not be aware of just how powerful a contribution it makes to all aspects of healthcare; from clear and accurate documentation at the point of care, which also enables the safe transfer of information among diverse systems, to deep and vital clinical research.
We are at a critical stage in our development and we have made significant progress on an ambitious strategic road map, which guides us and which we oversee; we also have the challenge of ensuring the alignment of our SCT standard and those of the World Health Organization as well as harnessing the fast-evolving world of analytics, genomics and artificial intelligence. The judgement, experience and contribution you will bring will be essential to our ability to achieve these undertakings and to further enhance global healthcare.
The Management Board Appointment & Review Committee of the General Assembly are responsible for shortlisting and interviewing candidates. If you are successful in your application, you will be very warmly welcomed onto our diverse and respected Management Board. Whilst we are a small and eclectic group of passionate people, we are aligned and dedicated to the success of our mission to improve the health of humankind.
For a confidential discussion, please contact our professional advisors on this appointment, Alumni Global, who would be delighted to assist further.
I very much look forward to your application.
With best wishes
Joanne Burns
