Head of Unit/Professor Director of Clinical Genetics
Reporting to the Program Medical Director, Medicine, and the Head of the School of Clinical Sciences, the position has responsibility for the effective management and leadership of the General Genetics department and the provision of clinical genetics services across Monash Health consistent with our Strategic and Clinical Services plans, as well as the development and advancement of academic programs, especially research, within this discipline.
As a member of the Monash Doctors Council, the appointee will provide leadership in achieving and upholding Monash Health's Vision, Purpose and Values.
In conjunction with Program Medical Director, establish the organisational structure of the Unit and appoint medical staff in consultation with Site Operation Directors.
In conjunction with Head of SCS, establish the foundations of a research program within genetics, and grow and support genetics research in collaboration with the many research groups on our campus.
