Job description
As Commercial Director – Sweden, you will have full Profit & Loss responsibility and a budget of +200 MSEK for 2025. You will lead the Swedish sales team, strengthen strategic partnerships, and position HL Display as the leading provider of in-store communication and merchandising solutions. Your leadership will be key in integrating newly acquired businesses and navigating a competitive market landscape.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning & Vision: Develop and implement a strategic plan for Sweden’s commercial operations and sales processes in collaboration with the Area Director
Commercial Targets: Deliver key financial targets, including Net Sales, Operating Profit, DSI, and DSO, as set by the Area Director and Group Commercial Director
Business Planning & Forecasting: Lead business planning, forecasting, and priority setting in Sweden to drive profitability and sustainable growth
Leadership & Culture: Provide strong and inspirational leadership, fostering a high-performance sales team through coaching, development, and continuous improvement
Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with key customers and stakeholders in the retail industry
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across all functions—including Supply Chain, Product Development, and other key areas—to ensure seamless operations and support
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, you are an inspiring, sales-driven leader with previous P&L responsibility. You have a strong grasp of the Swedish retail market, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a sharp commercial mindset. The ideal candidate is strategic, yet hands-on, results-oriented, and adept at driving growth, leading transformation, and fostering a high-performance culture in a dynamic market. He or she has the ability to seamlessly shift between execution, tactical decision-making, and strategic planning, ensuring both immediate impact and long-term success.
Requirements
Demonstrated success in a senior commercial role, preferably within the retail or merchandising solutions industry
Experience in leading sales teams, managing P&L, and driving strategic growth
Experience from having developed and implemented strategic plans, set priorities, and achieved commercial targets
Experience in change management and team integration (post-acquisition)
Excellent Swedish and English, written and spoken
Personal characteristics
Deeply customer-oriented, with a passion for building long-term relationships and delivering value-driven solutions
Strong commercial mindset with a clear sales focus
Forward-thinking leader who takes initiative and identifies opportunities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
