Job description
The VP Technology & Innovation is part of the Technology, Product & Operations Management team and leads all product development efforts across equipment and diamond tools globally—from early ideation and feasibility to development and industrialization.

The role oversees a global organization of ~200 people (plus consultants), including the R&D function, the Project Management Office, and the Connectivity Center (shared with Husqvarna Group’s Forest and Garden division). With the division moving toward software-intensive and automated solutions, including embedded software, mechatronics, and robotics, this role plays a critical part in shaping how technology is developed and delivered.

  • Serve as the organizational face of Technology & Innovation fostering strong cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Operations, and PMO, and driving change in a dynamic environment.

  • Own the early development process—from concept and feasibility to prototyping and validation—and lead the transition from innovation to industrialized product solutions that meet time, cost, and quality targets.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation focused on simplification, technology renewal, and reduced product complexity.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate technology initiatives with overall business strategy.

  • Oversee the development of next-generation platforms (mechanical, mechatronics, connectivity, embedded software) and steer the organization toward integrated, software-driven systems.

  • Build strategic partnerships with universities, technology experts, and external collaborators to maintain innovation leadership.

  • Build and empower a senior leadership team within Technology & Innovation, supporting cross-functional clarity and performance.

Who are you?
You are a seasoned technology executive with experience leading global, cross-functional product Development organizations. You have a strong engineering background and a track record of successfully delivering innovation in industrial or product-oriented businesses. You are passionate about change, energized by complexity, and committed to building engaged and empowered teams.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of senior leadership experience in technology and product development, with a broad cross-functional scope including mechanics, electronics, software and automation.

  • Extensive experience leading other senior people managers, creating clarity, direction, and empowerment across multiple teams and functions.

  • Proven experience working in a global environment.

  • A strong track record of delivering successful product development outcomes, from early-stage innovation to industrialization and launch.
