Non-Executive Directors, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Non-Executive Directors, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

United Kingdom

We are Bradford

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for providing hospital services for the people of Bradford and communities across Yorkshire. We are one of the few hospitals around the country which delivers care, teaching and research. We serve a core population of around 667,000 people and provide specialist services for some 1.1 million.

We employ over 7,000 members of staff who work over several sites, including Bradford Royal Infirmary, which provides the majority of inpatient services, and St Luke’s Hospital, which predominantly provides outpatient and rehabilitation services. We also provide a range of services from community sites at Westbourne Green, Westwood Park, Eccleshill, Skipton and the Bradford Macula Centre.

We became the first healthcare organisation in Europe to implement a Command Centre to transform patient flow in our hospitals. Our dedication to research and innovation remains strong. The Bradford Institute for Health Research (BIHR) continues to lead pioneering health studies, including Europe’s first clinical trial using injections to treat asthma and a groundbreaking study into whether better blood pressure management can reduce the risk of falls in older adults. Additionally, Bradford was awarded nearly £7m to set up one of 20 new Commercial Research Delivery Centres (CRDC) and will act as a regional hub for pioneering clinical trials, creating opportunities to test innovative new treatments with the latest equipment and technology.

  • Hello

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to consider this opportunity. Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust is an amazing organisation providing services to the people of Bradford and the wider district. We are a large District Hospital with 2 main acute sites and 5 community settings. It is a busy and dynamic trust where we see on average over 400 patients a day through our A&E services, provide over 520,000 outpatients per year and preform over 18,000 operations.

With over 7000 colleagues, we work hard to deliver high quality services and we are extremely proud that last year our Neonatal service was rated outstanding by the CQC. The Trust is home to the Bradford Institute of Health Research which is a leading research organisation in the country. We also have strong links with our local universities and are proud to support the teaching and learning of students from many disciplines. We actively collaborate with our partners as part of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care System, the Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, and the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts.

We have ambitious plans for the future and are looking for 2 Non Executive Directors who can support us on our journey.

If you have a commitment and passion for the NHS and like working in a complex environment, we would love to hear from you. Our current board has a diverse set of skills and backgrounds so we are looking for people who will complement and build on our talents.
