Education and Congress Programmes Director, European Society of Cardiology
Our mission: To reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease
We are a volunteer-led, not-for-profit medical society. Our members and decision-makers are scientists, clinicians, nurses and allied professionals working in all fields of cardiology.
We unite national cardiac societies from around the world. This unique network allows us to understand the impact of cardiovascular disease and how we can better reduce its burden. Our diversity is our strength.
We are seeking a Director who will lead the Education and Congress Programmes Division. The Division consists of the Congress Programmes Department and the Education Department. The role focuses on two major strategic areas of the organisation’s portfolio of activities:
Driving and developing the year-round education offer, and coordinating with internal bodies (Associations, Working Groups and Councils) an integrated approach to specialty-tiered educational programmes, delivered via online learning (webinars and courses), in person courses and events, certification, accreditation and event endorsement activities.
Overseeing the development of scientific programmes for all annual congresses in consultation with key volunteers and staff members, including the Congress Programme Committee and the Congress Operations Division, implementing strategies agreed with the Board, and providing input on content organisation strategy and delivery.
This is a highly strategic role which will see the successful candidate engaging with multiple stakeholders at senior level, both internally and externally.
