We are now looking for two Non-Executive Directors to enable our committed teams at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust to deliver an ambition of being an outstanding provider of health services for our population.

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is a major integrated acute and community provider and one of the largest employers in East Anglia. Our 10,000 staff are responsible for delivering services to a population of around 800,000 people living in Ipswich,  east Suffolk and north Essex, and some specialist services to the wider population. We are now looking for two Non-Executive Directors to join our Board to enable our committed teams to deliver an ambition of being an outstanding provider of health services for our population, to become part of an integrated system with our health and social care partners, to deliver seamless care for the people we serve and striving for excellence in everything we do.

In joining our Board, you will have the opportunity to support our vision and make a tangible difference to the population we serve. We are an ambitious organisation, and as we continue on our improvement journey, work through Covid recovery and ensure the future success of the organisation, we will require outstanding new Non-Executive Directors to help us on this journey. During this period of unprecedented pressure for our Trust and for the NHS as a whole, as we now move towards new and more integrated models of delivery, we are searching for candidates who demonstrate a genuine commitment to patients, and the promotion of excellent healthcare and reduction of health inequalities.

To help us meet these objectives, we would like to appoint new Non-Executive Directors who bring expertise in one of the following two areas:

  • Recognising the move towards partnership working, those from a primary care or community health background, perhaps as a GP, who bring experience of working at system level.

  • Recognising the pressures the pandemic has placed on our workforce and the importance of cultural development and investing in our people, those who bring a background in OD and cultural leadership from an organisation of similar scale and complexity to ESNEFT.

We believe that the best boards are those that reflect the communities we serve. We are therefore seeking to increase the diversity of our Board to make it truly representative of our workforce and local population and so would particularly welcome applications from people that are from groups that are under-represented at Board level.

In joining our Trust at this critical juncture, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a strong, capable, ambitious and committed Board of Directors, and will be instrumental in shaping the strategic future of our Trust and wider health and care system. If you feel that your ambition matches ours, we look forward to receiving your application.
