Challenge
Alumni has a longstanding relationship with Consolis, having supported in both permanent search assignments as well as interim solutions over the past years. When Helen Spalding, was promoted to Group Communications Director at Consolis, she was tasked with setting out a future strategy for her department. With an intensive workload at hand, needing to balance the ongoing operations as well as rethinking future strategic needs and the possible restructure of her organisation, she contacted Alumni for help with a recruitment need for two roles within her communications department. Our initial analysis meeting resulted in Alumni proposing the immediate solution of an interim consultant to join Helen, to give support within a matter of days.
Results
With Alumni's permanent search business closely linked to our interim business, we very quickly had one of Alumni’s dedicated Interim Management Consultants working on the case. A consultant with just the right network of communications specialists. Anna Steen was soon identified as a solid, available candidate with an extensive experience in internal communications and Alumni successfully presented her to Consolis.
Once Alumni had placed the interim solution, it allowed Helen more time to define a thorough candidate profile for her two permanent roles. Alumni proceeded with the permanent search to help Helen build her team, and Anna as Interim Consultant was also part of this full recruitment process, including the application and assessment stage. It quickly became clear that even against a benchmark with a number of other strong candidates, Anna was a perfect match to Consolis and Helen´s team. This resulted in her being offered a permanent position.
Another benefit to Consolis in this case, having partnered with Alumni in both the interim and permanent search, was that the final financial transactions were beneficial to Consolis.
